"Breathe" Analysis

“Breathe” Toby  Meakins   https://www.shortoftheweek.com/2015/02/09/breathe/   Narrative   Ghost girl who can only be seen when holding breath. Man kills other to keep girl real for bit longer. Cyclical narrative. Implied man does this often.   Genre   Horror   Representation   Young white men. Lower class. Strong accent. Implied sexual contact between ghost girl and men. Girl treated as sexual object by second man.   Audience   Micro Elements   Fade edits, text graphics. Dialogue voiceover. Slight music. Sound like  screeching . Grey, desaturated colours. Greens.  Uses superimposition to create ghost girl. Mid shots  . Personal Response Like supernatural elements, and twist at end. I liked the ending was dark, but didn't really enjoy it until the ending. I liked the use of colour to create a depressing atmosphere.
