My Reaction to the Brief

Initial Ideas Create something within the genre of horror. Horror is easy to provoke an emotional response within a smaller timeframe, and works well as a short film. Horror can be very focused, and works as it connects with everyone's primal instincts, it would not be too niche or too complex to work. Horror also doesn't require a complex setup to be engaging. could do something with a stalker ideas of looking, use mirrors, glass to create person's view limited dialogue slow pace If not horror, I would like to do something with a theme of self-view and how we can't trust our own perception of things. Preparation for a short film is similar to a feature film, requiring storyboards, scripts etc. The major difference is the length and how this impacts the type of story that can be effectively told in a smaller timeframe. Normally the setup (establishing the equilibrium) is done very fast, so within the first 30 seconds or so the audience knows the ba...

This blog is run by Enfys Holmes for the coursework section of the Film Studies A Level at Hills Road Sixth Form College. It will be used to track my research towards the creation of a script and short film per the brief. I will update this continuously until the end of the coursework.
